မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၊ ရန်ကုန်တိရစ္ဆာန်ဥယျာဉ်တွင် ပြည်သူ့အချစ်တော် ဆင်မကြီးမိုမို၏ ၇၂ ပြည့် မွေးနေ့ပွဲကို အောက်တိုဘာ ၂၄ ရက်မှ ၂၆ ရက်အထိ ၃ ရက်ကြာကျင်းပခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
ပြည်သူ့အချစ်တော် ဆင်မကြီးမိုမိုက အောက်တိုဘာ ၂၆ ရက် (တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့) တွင် ဧည့်ပရိသတ်များနှင့်အတူ သစ်သီးမွေးနေ့ကိတ်ခွဲခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
“မိုမို က ၁၉၆၁ ခုနှစ် သူ့အသက် ၇ နှစ်အရွယ်မှာ ရန်ကုန်တိရစ္ဆာန်ဥယျာဉ်ကို ရောက်ခဲ့တာပါ။ နှစ်တွေ ဆယ်ချီကြာလာတော့ မိုမိုက သူ့နာမည်ကိုခေါ်ရင် ကပြပြီး ပြန်နှုတ်ဆက်တယ်။ အဲဒီတော့ ဧည့်သည်တွေက အရမ်းချစ်ပြီး သဘောကျကြတယ်” ဟု ရန်ကုန်တိရစ္ဆာန်ဥယျာဉ်မှ operation manager ဦးခင်မောင်ထွေးက ပြောသည်။

“ကျွန်တော်တို့ အနေနဲ့ မိုမိုကို ကျန်းမာရေးစစ်ဆေးမှုတွေပုံမှန်လုပ်ပေးသလို အစားအသောက်ကိုလည်း ဂရုတစိုက် ကျွေးပါတယ်။ မိုမိုက ကျွန်တော်တို့ တိရစ္ဆာန်ရုံအတွက် အရမ်းအလုပ်ကြိုးစားတဲ့သူပါ။ မိုမိုက ဆင်အကကို ၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ်ကတည်းက စတင်ကပြခဲ့ပြီး သူရဲ့ အသက် ၆၀ ပြည့်တဲ့အချိန်အထိ ကပြခဲ့ပါတယ်” ဟု ၎င်းက ဆိုသည်။
“မိုမို အသက် ၆၀ ပြည့်နှစ်ကတည်းက မိုမို့မွေးနေ့ပွဲကို နှစ်တိုင်းကျင်းပခဲ့ပြီး ဆင်တွေနဲ့ ပတ်သက်တဲ့ အသိပညာပေးမှုတွေ လုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ မိုမိုက တိရစ္ဆာန်ရုံရဲ့ နာမည်ကြီးဖြစ်သလို ဧည့်သည်တွေကလည်း သူ့ကို အရမ်းချစ်ကြတယ်” ဟု ၎င်းက ဖြည့်စွက်ပြောကြားသည်။

Myanmar’s beloved elephant Momo celebrates 72nd birthday at Yangon Zoological Gardens
YANGON, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — Myanmar’s beloved elephant, Momo, celebrated her 72nd birthday with a lively three-day festival held from Oct. 24 to 26 at Yangon Zoological Gardens.
The main celebration and fruit cake-cutting ceremony took place on Sunday, drawing large crowds of visitors.
“Momo arrived at Yangon Zoological Gardens in 1961 when she was seven years old. Over the decades, she has delighted generations of visitors with her ability to dance and respond to her name,” said Khin Maung Htwe, the zoo’s operations manager.
“We give Momo regular health checkups and prepare her food carefully. She has worked hard for our zoo. She used to perform in elephant dance shows until 2013, when she was 60,” he said.
“Since then, we’ve celebrated her birthday every year to honor her and raise awareness about elephants. Momo is the star of our zoo, and visitors love her deeply,” he added.
The festivities included zookeeper talks, live performances, a magic show, games, and a fun fair. ■
