Myanmar destroys 48 acres of poppy in eastern state
YANGON, March 12 (Xinhua) — Myanmar’s police have destroyed 48 acres of opium poppy fields in eastern Myanmar’s Shan state, the state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.
The fields were located in Hopong township of Pa-O self-administered zone in Shan state, the report said.
The poppy fields, which were cultivated using irrigation, were eradicated between March 3 and 10, 2025, it added. Enditem
