အရေးပါသော ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်များစွာ အတည်ပြုချမှတ်နိုင်မှုနှင့်အတူ ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာ ဆေးလိပ်နှင့် ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထွက်ကုန် ထိန်းချုပ်ရေးညီလာခံမှာ နိုဝင်ဘာ ၂၂ ရက်က ကျင်းပပြီးစီးသွားခဲ့ပြီဟု သိရသည်။ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထွက်ကုန်ထိန်းချုပ်ရေးအပေါ် ကမ္ဘာ့ကျန်းမာရေးအဖွဲ့၏ မူဘောင်သဘောတူညီချက် (WHO FCTC) အောက်မှ အဖွဲ့အစည်းများ တက်ရောက်ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့သော ညီလာခံ၏ ၁၁ ကြိမ်မြောက် အစည်းအဝေး (COP11) အတွင်း ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထွက်ကုန်ထိန်းချုပ်ရေးနှင့် သဘာ၀ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်အပေါ် ထိခိုက်မှုတို့နှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ အဓိကကျသောဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်များ ချမှတ်နိုင်ခဲ့သည်။

၆ ရက်ကြာအစည်းအဝေးတွင် ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထွက်ကုန် စွန့်ပစ်ပစ္စည်း စီမံခန့်ခွဲမှု၊ နီကိုတင်းထုတ်ကုန်များနှင့် အီလက်ထရွန်းနစ်ကိရိယာများအပါအဝင် ဆေးရွက်ကြီး၏ သဘော၀ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်အပေါ်ထိခိုက်မှုနှင့် ကျန်းမာရေးထိခိုက်မှုတို့ကို ကာကွယ်နိုင်ရေးအပေါ် အာရုံစိုက်ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ကြသည်။

ပြည်သူ့ကျန်းမာရေးထိခိုက်မှုများအား ထည့်သွင်းစဉ်းစားလျက် ‌ဆေးရွက်ကြီးနှင့် နီကိုတင်းထုတ်ကုန်အစိတ်အပိုင်းများ၊ သဘာ၀ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ထိခိုက်မှု ပိုများစေသော ဆက်စပ်ပြင်ပအစိတ်အပိုင်းများနှင့်စပ်လျဉ်း၍ ပြီးပြည့်စုံသော စည်းမျဉ်းစည်းကမ်းဆိုင်ရာ ရွေးချယ်စရာများကို စဉ်းစားသုံးသပ်ရန် သက်ဆိုင်ရာ အဖွဲ့အစည်းများကို ဖိတ်ခေါ်ထားသည့် ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်တစ်ခုကို ချမှတ်နိုင်ခဲ့သည်။

ကုလသမဂ္ဂအဖွဲ့အစည်းအားလုံး၏ ရုံးတွင်းနှင့် ပြင်ပနေရာများအတွင်း ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထုတ်ကုန်များနှင့် အခြားနီကိုတင်းထုတ်ကုန်များသုံးစွဲရောင်းချမှုကို အလုံးစုံတားမြစ်ပိတ်ပင်ရန် တောင်းဆိုထားသည့် ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်တစ်ခုကိုလည်း ချမှတ်နိုင်ခဲ့သည်။

ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာ ဆေးရွက်ကြီးထွက်ကုန်ပြန့်ပွားမှုကို အဆုံးသတ်နိုင်ရန် နိုင်ငံများအား ကတိကဝတ်ပြုစေနိုင်သော သဘောတူညီချက်အရကျင်းပသည့် ညီလာခံအတွက် အဖွဲ့အစည်းပေါင်း ၁၆၀ မှာ ဆွစ်ဇာလန်နိုင်ငံ၊ ဂျီနီဗာမြို့သို့ စုရုံးရောက်ရှိခဲ့ကြခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။ (Xinhua)

Global tobacco control conference adopts decisions on environment, liability
GENEVA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua)
A global conference on tobacco control concluded here Saturday with a series of critical decisions adopted.
Key decisions during the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP11), under the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), were reached on tobacco control and the environment.
The six-day meeting focused on the protection against tobacco’s environmental and health harms, including waste management for tobacco, nicotine products and electronic devices.
A decision was adopted inviting the involved Parties to consider comprehensive regulatory options regarding tobacco and nicotine product components, and related external components that increase environmental harm, taking into consideration public health impacts.
A decision was also adopted that calls for a complete ban on the use and sale of tobacco products and other nicotine products within all United Nations indoor and outdoor premises.
A total of 160 Parties gathered in Geneva for the conference under the convention, which commits countries to ending the global tobacco epidemic. ■
