Rashford keen to extend Barcelona stay beyond season’s loan
MADRID, Oct. 24 (Xinhua)
Marcus Rashford says he wants to stay at FC Barcelona when his loan deal from Manchester United ends at the end of the season.
Rashford has adapted well to life in Barcelona, with four goals in the Champions League and one in La Liga, and looks set to start in Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid.
When asked by ESPN if he wanted to extend his stay beyond June, the 27-year-old, who left Manchester United after a falling-out with coach Ruben Amorim, was clear.
“Oh yeah, for sure,” he replied: “I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it’s an honor.”The England international noted that “23 years of my life was with Manchester United, so sometimes you just need a change.”
“I think maybe this is the case with me and I’m enjoying everything,” he added. ■
