Great Ethiopian Run ပြိုင်ပွဲ၌ လူ ၅၅,၀၀၀ ဦး စံချိန်တင်ပါဝင်ဆင်နွှဲ

အီသီယိုးပီးယားနိုင်ငံ၏ အကြီးမားဆုံးသော Great Ethiopian Run ပြိုင်ပွဲကြီးကို နိုဝင်ဘာ ၂၃ ရက်က ကျင်းပခဲ့ရာ အာဖရိက၏ အကြီးဆုံးသောလမ်းပြိုင်ပွဲကြီး ၂၅ ကြိမ်မြောက်အဖြစ် မြို့တော် အဒစ်အဘာဘာ၏ လမ်းများပေါ်တွင် အပြေးသမား ၅၅,၀၀၀ ဦးဖြင့် ပြည့်နှက်ခဲ့သည်။

“၁၀ ကီလိုမီတာအတွင်းက နိုင်ငံ” ခေါင်းစဥ်အောက်တွင် ၁၀ ကီလိုမီတာပြိုင်ပွဲသည် ယခင်ကထက် ပါဝင်ယှဥ်ပြိုင်သူအများဆုံး ဆွဲဆောင်နိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး ကင်ညာနှင့် ယူဂန္ဓာ အပါအဝင် နိုင်ငံနှင်ဒေသပေါင်း ၂၄ ခုမှ ပါဝင်ခဲ့ကြသည်။

ပြိုင်ပွဲတွင် အီသီယိုးပီးယားနိုင်ငံမှ အပြေးသမားများက ထိပ်တန်းဆုများရယူနိုင်ခဲ့ကြသည်။ Yismaw Dillu က အမျိုးသားပြိုင်ပွဲတွင် ၂၈ မိနစ်၂၅ စက္ကန့် ဖြင့်အနိုင်ရရှိခဲ့ပြီး Melknat Wudu က ၃၂ မိနစ် ၁၀ စက္ကန့်ဖြင့် အမျိုးသမီး ချန်ပီယံ ရရှိခဲ့သည်။

“ပြိုင်ပွဲက အရမ်းစိတ်လှုပ်ရှားဖို့ ကောင်းပါတယ်၊ ကင်ညာနဲ့ ယူဂန္ဓာက အားကစားသမားတွေအပါအဝင် ပြိုင်ဘက်တွေကို အနိုင်ယူနိုင်ခဲ့လို့ ကျွန်တော် အရမ်းပျော်ပါတယ်” ဟု Dillu က ဆင်ဟွာ သတင်းဌာနကို ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။ ၎င်းသည် လွန်ခဲ့သည့်နှစ်ပြိုင်ပွဲတွင်လည်း တတိယဆုရရှိခဲ့သူဖြစ်ပြီး နှစ်စဥ်ပြိုင်ပွဲများသည် နိုင်ငံတကာပြိုင်ပွဲများအတွက် ထွန်းသစ်စ ထူးချွန်သူများပေါ်ထွက်ရေးတွင် အဓိကအခန်းကဏ္ဍမှ ပါဝင်ကြောင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

Great Ethiopian Run draws record 55,000 participants

ADDIS ABABA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) — Ethiopia staged its largest Great Ethiopian Run on Sunday, with 55,000 runners filling the streets of the capital Addis Ababa for the 25th edition of what has become Africa’s biggest road race.

The 10-kilometer event attracted its highest turnout to date and featured participants from 24 countries and regions, including Kenya and Uganda, under the theme “A Nation in 10 Kilometers.”

Ethiopian runners took top honors. Yismaw Dillu won the men’s race in 28 minutes and 25 seconds, while Melknat Wudu claimed the women’s title in 32:10.

“The race was very exciting. I am very happy I won, beating tough competitors including elite athletes from Kenya and Uganda,” Dillu told Xinhua. He finished third in last year’s edition and said the annual race plays a key role in developing emerging talent for international competition.

Fetaw Zeray, runner-up in the women’s race, said the event challenges and inspires young athletes. “Such a race helps Ethiopia produce world-class athletes capable of preserving the nation’s legacy in the Olympics and World Athletics Championships,” she said.

Race founder Haile Gebrselassie, the two-time Olympic 10,000-meter champion, said the event reflects Ethiopia’s strong capacity to host major sporting occasions. With the Great Ethiopian Run recently recognized as World Athletics heritage, Gebrselassie expressed hopes that Ethiopia would soon host Diamond League and other top-tier meets.

Launched in 2001, the Great Ethiopian Run has grown from a local competition into a mass running celebration that draws tens of thousands every year.
