FC Barcelona confirms Camp Nou return date
FC Barcelona on Wednesday confirmed the club will end its two years in exile and return to Camp Nou Stadium on August 10.
The official Barcelona website announced the club will play its traditional Joan Gamper pre-season opener in the ground, which has been undergoing extensive renovation works over the past two years.
Barca has been forced to spend that time in the former Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on the top of Montjuic, although the venue hasn’t been popular with supporters, have rarely been able to fill the ground, which has a capacity of just below 57,000.
The club returns to its traditional home with building work still going on, with Barcelona confirming that; “among the parts still needing to be finished, are the construction of the new third stand, the double VIP ring, the installation of the roof and the preparation of some interior spaces and the remodeling of the area around the ground.”

Ole Werner appointed RB Leipzig head coach on two-year deal
RB Leipzig have confirmed the appointment of Ole Werner as their new head coach on Tuesday, with the 37-year-old signing a contract that runs until June 2027.
Werner takes over from interim boss Zsolt Low, who had been in charge since Marco Rose’s departure in March.
After finishing seventh in the Bundesliga last season and missing out on European qualification for the first time since 2016, Leipzig is hoping Werner can bring fresh momentum and steer the club back to continental competition.

Jurgla joins Celta from Brugge to strengthen attack ahead of European return
Celta Vigo has moved to strengthen its attack for the forthcoming season by signing striker Ferran Jutgla from Belgian side Club Brugge.
The 26-year-old, who played nine times for FC Barcelona in the 2021-22 season before joining Brugge, returns to Spain after three successful seasons in Belgium where he scored 40 goals in 148 appearances and also gained experience of playing in European competitions.
