Lao weather bureau warns public to prepare for tropical storm
VIENTIANE, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) — The weather bureau of Laos has issued a tropical storm warning for Aug. 16-19, urging residents across the country to prepare for heavy to very heavy rainfall, which may trigger landslides and flash floods.
From Aug. 16 to 17, the storm is expected to impact the Lao capital Vientiane and other regions. From Aug. 18 to 19, the storm will still impact parts of the country.
All communities, local authorities, and organizations were urged to remain vigilant and prepare for prolonged heavy rain that may lead to landslides, flash floods, and urban flooding.
