တရုတ်နိုင်ငံ အရှေ့မြောက်ပိုင်း လျောင်နင်းပြည်နယ် စိန်ရန်မြို့တွင်နေထိုင်သည့် “ ၉၀” ပြည့်နှစ်ဖွား ကောင်း ရှောင်ယွီ ဆိုသူသည် အသက် ၁၄ နှစ်သားအရွယ်တွင် မတော်တဆ မှုတစ်ခုကြောင့် လက်တစ်ဖက်နှင့် ခြေတစ်ဖက် ဆုံးရှုံးခဲ့ရသည်။

GLOBALink | Chinese double amputee cyclist pursues dreams on the road

SHENYANG, May 26 (Xinhua) — Guo Shaoyu, a “post-90s” man from Shenyang, northeast China’s Liaoning Province, lost an arm and a leg in an accident at the age of 14.

His dreams were shattered until he started to practice cycling and decided to become an athlete, which saved him from feelings of frustration and low self-esteem.

A bicycle, a pair of prosthetic limbs and some basic supplies are all Guo needs when he cycles up snow-capped mountains, across deserts, and along seashores. In total, he’s covered more than 80,000 kilometers by bike so far.

Despite setbacks, he’s never given up.As a cyclist, Guo’s always on the move. He met his wife, has made many friends and receives lots of encouragement from strangers on the road. His next goal is to cycle around the world.
