GLOBALink | Elderly disabled woman rescued from dilapidated home in China’s Henan

ZHENGZHOU, July 22 (Xinhua) — An elderly disabled woman has been rescued from her dilapidated home by firefighters on Wednesday following heavy rainstorms in Dachen Village, Zhumadian City, central China’s Henan Province.

The elderly woman, aged over 70 years old, is unable to move by herself due to disability. Her home had been in a state of disrepair for a long time, and could have collapsed at any point as the rainfall continued. Twelve firefighters were dispatched to evacuate the woman by carrying her out and placing her on a stretcher.
