Sea urchins surviving severe epidemic on exhibit in Israel
Two black sea urchins, which survived a deadly epidemic in the Red Sea, are being preserved by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority at an aquarium in the Israeli city of Eilat.
The two black sea urchins are put in a special tank. One of them is male while the other is female.
The deadly epidemic killed almost all black sea urchin population in the region in a few months, a research team from Tel Aviv University said in May.
