Zagreb symposium deepens China-CEEC cooperation
ZAGREB, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) — The 11th China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) High-Level Think Tank Symposium was held here on Tuesday, bringing together more than 100 government officials, experts, scholars, industry representatives and journalists from China and Central and Eastern Europe.
At the opening ceremony, former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic highlighted the achievements of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism since its launch in 2012. He noted that the initiative has facilitated extensive connectivity, trade, and investment collaboration.
Josipovic emphasized that mutually beneficial cooperation between Croatia and China has continued to deepen with new heights.
Former Romanian President Emil Constantinescu hailed the exchanges and friendship between Romania and China. He called for further efforts to strengthen cooperation and enhance people-to-people ties, which he described as a profound foundation for the steady, long-term development of bilateral relations.
Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin said that deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the CEEC is not only of great significance to regional prosperity and development, but also injects stability and vitality into China-Europe relations and global development.
During the sub-forum sessions, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as China-CEEC cooperation, exchanges among think tanks, China-EU relations, and business collaboration between China and the CEEC. ■
