About 1,800 people registered to attend 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum
BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — Preparations for the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum have essentially been completed, and so far, about 1,800 delegates, observers, and media reporters have registered to attend the event, according to the forum organizer at a press briefing on Thursday.
To date, over 100 countries, regions, and international organizations have confirmed their participation at the forum, which is scheduled to be held in Beijing from Sept. 17 to 19.
Wu Jian’gang, an official of the preparatory work committee for the forum, said the forum, under the theme “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,” will feature four plenary sessions and eight parallel sessions.
The event will also include high-level dialogues, seminars for young military officers and scholars, and several closed-door academic seminars, as well as interviews, special briefings, exhibitions, and visiting activities to enhance mutual learning between China and the rest of the world.
According to Wu, participants at this year’s forum cover representatives from developed countries, emerging major countries, small and medium-sized countries, and countries from conflict zones. During the forum, it is expected that participants will focus on issues such as working together to uphold the victorious outcome of the World Anti-Fascist War and the post-war international order, as well as exploring effective ways to resolve conflicts. ■
