Bangladesh condemns Israeli killings in Gaza
DHAKA, April 9 (Xinhua) — The Bangladeshi interim government has strongly condemned Israel’s continued mass killing and gross violation of human rights in the Gaza Strip amid pro-Palestine protests in parts of the country.
Since Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas last month, its attacks have killed scores of Palestinians, mostly women and children, as well as blocked the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, leading to a human catastrophe, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday.
“The Government of Bangladesh demands that Israel immediately cease all military operations, exercise maximum restraint, and abide by its duty under international humanitarian law,” it said.
Bangladesh appeals to the international community, in particular the United Nations, to discharge its moral and legal responsibilities by adopting immediate and effective steps toward the implementation of an unconditional ceasefire and the cessation of all hostilities for the protection of lives of civilians and unobstructed passage of humanitarian relief to besieged Gaza, it said. htxs.cn/2Cx
