HKSAR gov’t to step up efforts to hunt down anti-China fugitives: chief executive
John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Tuesday that the HKSAR government will step up efforts to hunt down eight anti-China agitators on a wanted list.
The Hong Kong Police Force said earlier that eight anti-China agitators, Yam Kin-fung, Yuan Gong-yi, Kwok Fung-yee, Kwok Wing-hang, Hui Chi-fung, Mung Siu-tat, Lau Cho-dik and Law Kwun-chung, were wanted over alleged contravention of the national security law in Hong Kong. A 1-million-Hong Kong dollar (127,750-U.S. dollar) reward is being offered for the arrest of each of them.
Lee told a press briefing before an executive council meeting that those who violated the national security law in Hong Kong, endangered national security and were involved in serious crimes will be pursued for life. Their financial providers and the forces behind them will also be investigated.
