ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ (COVID-19) ရောဂါသည် ကမ္ဘာ့ကျန်းမာရေးအဖွဲ့ (WHO) ၏ အမြင့်ဆုံးသတိပေးအဆင့်ဖြစ်သော အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ ပြည်သူ့ကျန်းမာရေးအရေးပေါ်အခြေအနေ (PHEIC) အဖြစ် ဆက်လက်ရှိနေတော့မည် မဟုတ်ကြောင်း WHO က မေ ၅ ရက်၌ ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

WHO ညွှန်ကြားရေးမှူးချုပ် Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus က ဂျီနီဗာမြို့၌ အွန်လိုင်းသတင်းစာရှင်းလင်းပွဲ၌ အထက်ပါအတိုင်း ကြေညာခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

အပတ်စဉ် ရောဂါကြောင့် သေဆုံးမှုပမာဏမှာ ကပ်ရောဂါဖြစ်ပွားချိန်မှစ၍ အရေအတွက်အနည်းဆုံးဖြစ်ပြီး နိုင်ငံအများစုတွင်လည်း နေထိုင်မှုပုံစံများမှာလည်း ပုံမှန်အခြေအနေသို့ ပြန်လည်ရောက်ရှိလာပြီဖြစ်ကြောင်း Tedros က WHO အစီရင်ခံစာ၌ ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

WHO က ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ရောဂါကို အမြင့်ဆုံးသတိပေးချက်အဆင့်အဖြစ် ၂၀၂၀ ပြည့်နှစ် ဇန်နဝါရီ ၃၀ ရက်က ပထမဆုံးအကြိမ် ထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့သည်။

၂၀၂၃ ခုနှစ် မေလအထိ ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝန်း ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ရောဂါ အတည်ပြုလူနာအရေအတွက်မှာ သေဆုံးသူ ၆.၉ သန်းကျော် အပါအဝင် ၇၆၅ သန်းကျော်ရှိခဲ့ကြောင်း WHO က ထုတ်ပြန်ထားကြောင်း ကုလသမဂ္ဂအေဂျင်စီ၏ စာရင်းအင်းများအရ သိရသည်။ (Xinhua)

COVID-19 no longer int’l health emergency: WHO
GENEVA, May 5 (Xinhua) — The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that the COVID-19 pandemic no longer constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), the WHO’s highest alert level.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of WHO, made the announcement at a virtual press conference from Geneva.
The number of weekly reported deaths is at its lowest since the pandemic began, and in most countries, life has returned to “normal,” said Tedros earlier in a WHO report.
The WHO first gave COVID-19 its highest level of alert on Jan. 30, 2020.
As of May 3, 2023, there have been more than 765 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally, including over 6.9 million deaths, reported to WHO, according to the UN agency’s statistics.
