Mega oilfield in Xinjiang increases output
A mega oilfield in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has increased output.
The Mahu Oilfield in the Junggar Basin now produces up to 6,993 tonnes of crude oil per day, with an aggregate output of 1.45 million tonnes so far this year.
The oilfield plans to produce 2.73 million tonnes of crude oil this year.
After expanding capacity, the annual production of the Mahu Oilfield is expected to reach 3 million tonnes by the end of the year.
The Mahu Oilfield was ascertained in late 2017.
It has a proven oil reserve exceeding one billion tonnes.
Its annual production is set to reach 5 million tonnes in 2025.
