China’s anti-pandemic measures give importance to public health: Turkish expert
A leading Turkish specialist on infectious diseases said China’s policy of handling COVID-19 is the correct method to curb the spread of the pandemic and save people’s lives.
Bulent Ertugrul, an expert from Reyap Hospital in Istanbul, said on Monday that from the very beginning of the pandemic, China has been following an understanding that gives importance to public health.
The specialist believes that it’s not right to consider the pandemic as an individual health policy.

“Just last week, two of my patients died due to COVID-19 (in Türkiye). They were my elderly patients having underlying diseases. Therefore, it is not right to consider the pandemic as an individual health policy. It’s not right to act like that. And if you ask whose policy is correct here, I can say that the health policies of countries that still see COVID-19 as a social health problem are more right.”
