အာဖဂန်နစ္စတန်နိုင်ငံ အရှေ့ပိုင်း  ပက်တီကာ ပြည်နယ်တွင် ဇွန် ၂၂ ရက် အစောပိုင်းက လှုပ်ခတ်ခဲ့သည့် ငလျင် ကြောင့်  သေဆုံးသူ ဦးရေမှာ ၁,၀၀၀ ဦးကျော်အထိ ရှိလာခဲ့ပြီး နောက်ထပ်လူပေါင်း ၁,၅၀၀ ကျော် ထိခိုက်ဒါဏ်ရာရရှိထားပြီဖြစ်ကြောင်း နှင့်  ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိသူအရေအတွက်မှာထပ်မံတိုးပွားလာနိုင် ချေရှိကြောင်း သဘာဝဘေးအန္တရာယ်ဆိုင်ရာ တာဝန်ရှိသူတစ်ဦးက ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

ယခုရုပ်သံဖိုင်မှာ ပက်တီကာပြည်နယ်သို့ရောက်ရှိနေသည့် ဆင်ဟွာသတင်းထောက်ကနောက်ဆုံးရရှိသည့်အခြေအနေများအားတင်ဆက်ထားသည့်ရုပ်သံဖိုင်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

ဆင်ဟွာသတင်းထောက် အာရီယာ  က “ အာဖဂန်နစ္စတန်နိုင်ငံအရှေ့ပိုင်းမှာ ဒီကနေ့ (ဗုဒ္ဓဟူးနေ့) မနက်ပိုင်း က ငလျင်တစ်ခုလှုပ်ခတ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်၊ အခုဆိုရင်သေဆုံးသူဦးရေဟာ ၁,၀၀၀ အထိရှိလာခဲ့ပြီး ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိသူဦးရေ ၁,၅၀၀ ကျော်ရှိနေပါပြီ၊ ကျွန်တော်ကတော့ ပက်တီကာပြည်နယ် ရဲ့ ငလျင်ဘေးသင့်တဲ့ကျေးရွာမှာရောက်နေတာပါ၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့ဟာပက်တီကာမှာရှိတဲ့ပြည်နယ်ဆေးရုံကိုလည်းသွားခဲ့ပြီးပါပြီ၊ ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိသူတွေရဲ့ မိသားစုဝင်အမြောက်အမြားဆေးရုံဂိတ်ပေါက်မှာစုဝေးရောက်ရှိနေကြပါတယ်။ ဆေးရုံမှာလည်း သွေးလှူဒါန်းနိုင်တဲ့နေရာတစ်ခုကိုဖွင့်လှစ်ထားလိုက်ပါပြီ၊ သွေးလှူဒါန်းလိုကြတဲ့  ပြည်သူတွေဟာဆေးရုံရဲ့ဂိတ်ပေါက်ဝမှာတန်းစီစောင့်စားနေကြပါတယ်” ဆာဖာဟူဒင်ဆိုသူဟာ ဂါရန်ခရိုင်က ဒေသခံတစ်ဦးဖြစ်ပြီး ငလျင်ကြောင့် ကျေးရွာက အိမ်တွေအားလုံးပျက်စီးသွားခဲ့ပြီလို့ဆိုပါတယ်။

ပက်တီကာပြည်နယ် ဂါယန်ခရိုင်နှင့် အနီးရှိ ခို့စ်ပြည်နယ် ဆာပါရီ ခရိုင်တို့သည် ငလျင်ကြောင့်ထိခိုက်ခံရမှုအရှိဆုံးဒေသများဖြစ်သည်။

Death toll of Afghanistan’s quake surpasses 1,000: official

The death toll from an earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan early Wednesday has surpassed 1,000, while more than 1,500 people were injured, a provincial official said, adding the number of casualties might rise further.

“An earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan early Today (Wednesday). The death toll has reached 1,000. More than 1,500 people were injured. I’m at a village struck by the earthquake in Paktika province. I have also visited the provincial hospital in Paktika. A large number of relatives of the injured gathered at the gate of the hospital. The hospital has opened a blood donation channel. People who are willing to donate blood have lined up at the gate of the hospital.”

Saffuddin, a resident in Gayan district, said the quake has destroyed houses in the village.

“The incident happened last night roughly at 1:30 a.m. (local time) when a strong earthquake occurred and houses in our village were destroyed. The quake has caused casualties, serious damage and destruction. Many were killed in the quake. The assistance has not reached here so far. We need carpets. We need blankets. We need foodstuff. We need tents. People in this village are living on the ground after the quake. We have one tent, but is torn in parts, it is not useable. Houses are destroyed. We need carpets. We need blankets. We need foodstuff. We need tents. And we lost everything, everything has gone.”

Gayan district in Paktika province and Sapari district of neighboring Khost province were the worst-hit areas.

The disaster and humanitarian body has planned to pay 100,000 afghani (about 1,124 U.S. dollars) to the family of any individual killed and 50,000 afghani (about 558 U.S. dollars) to anyone injured in the earthquake, according to Muslim.

The quake, with a magnitude of 5.9, jolted 44 km southwest of Khost, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake jolted mountainous areas and the Ministry of Defense dispatched seven helicopters with life-saving equipment and medical personnel to the area, while medical and rescue teams were also on the way to the affected areas, the ministry said on Twitter.

The Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) has also dispatched rescue workers, health teams and volunteers to help those affected by the earthquake, the agency wrote on Twitter.

World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Afghanistan also sent medical teams to provide assistance to the affected people.
