Water festival held in Ganvie, Benin’s lake village
A festival featuring lake sports, arts, and culture was held recently in the lake village of Ganvie in Benin.
This festival showcased the daily life of the local people through canoe races, water performances, floating stores, and other diverse activities.
Known as the “Venice of Africa,” Ganvie is situated in Lake Nokoue and lies just to the north of Benin’s economic capital of Cotonou.
