၂၀၂၄ ခုနှစ်အတွင်း ကန်ဒါဟာပြည်နယ် မြို့တော် ကာနာဒါဟာ၊ ဆာ့ရှ်ဝါလီကော့နှင့် အာဂစ်စတန်ခရိုင်တို့တွင် ပိုလီယိုရောဂါဖြစ်ပွားသူ သုံးဦးတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်ဟု တာဝန်ရှိသူကပြောသည်။

ကူနာပြည်နယ် အရှေ့ပိုင်းနှင့် နူရစ်စတန်ပြည်နယ်တို့ အပါအဝင် အခြားသောနေရာများတွင်လည်း ပိုလီယိုရောဂါဖြစ်ပွားသူ ခြောက်ဦးရှိကြောင်း အာဏာပိုင်များကပြောသည်။
အာဖဂန်အိမ်စောင့်အစိုးရသည် ဇူလိုင် ၈ ရက်မှစတင်ကာ အာဖဂန်နစ္စတန်၏ ပြည်နယ် ၃၄ ခုအနက် ၂၃ ခုတွင် လေးရက်ကြာ အိမ်တိုင်ရာရောက် ပိုလီယိုကာကွယ်ဆေးတိုက်ကျွေးသည့် အစီအစဉ်ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သည်။
အသက်ငါးနှစ်အောက်ကလေး ရှစ်သန်းမှာ ပိုလီယိုကာကွယ်ဆေးရရှိမည်ဖြစ်သည်။

စစ်ပွဲဒဏ်ခံ အာဖဂန်နစ္စတန်နိုင်ငံတွင် ဇွန် ၃ ရက်ကလည်း ပိုလီယိုရောဂါ အမြစ်ပြတ်ရေး ကာကွယ်ဆေးတိုက်ကျွေးပေးသည့် အစီအစဉ်ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သည်။

3 polio cases detected in S. Afghanistan
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, July 10 (Xinhua) — Afghan authorities have registered three positive polio cases in the south Afghanistan Kandahar province, bringing the number of the crippling disease among children to nine in the country, provincial government spokesman Mawlawi Mahmoud Ezam said Wednesday.
The trio positive cases of the paralyzing disease have been detected in Kandahar’s provincial capital Kanadahar city, Shah Walikot and Arghistan districts in 2024, the official said.
According to the official, the remaining six polio cases have been registered in other parts of the war-torn country including the eastern Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
Afghan caretaker government launched a four-day house-to-house anti-polio campaign in 23 out of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces on Monday during which some 8 million children under five will receive the immunity vaccines against the crippling disease.
A similar anti-polio drive was launched in Afghanistan on June 3 to eradicate the crippling poliovirus in the war-torn country.
In 2023 only six cases of polio had been reported in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan and Pakistan reportedly are the two countries suffering from poliovirus in the world. ■
