GLOBALink | China’s Dunhuang launches cross-border freight train via China-Laos Railway
DUNHUANG, April 22 (Xinhua) — Loaded with 530 tons of asbestos, the freight train will exit China from the port of Mohan in Yunnan and travel to the Lao capital Vientiane before reaching Bangkok, Thailand.
Compared with travel by sea and other means of transportation, the freight train could save 28 days, reducing logistics costs.
The China-Laos Railway connects Kunming in Yunnan with Vientiane.
Launched in December 2021, it helps boost trade between China and Southeast Asian nations.
