Strong winds, dust, snow storms hit large parts of Mongolia
ULAN BATOR, April 24 (Xinhua) — Strong winds and dust storms are now hitting southern and central parts of Mongolia, and wind speed is reaching 15-24 meters per second, the country’s National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring said Saturday.
In addition, strong winds and snow storms are hitting western and northern parts of the country, the weather monitoring agency said.
The inclement weather is expected to continue across large parts of the country until the end of this month, according to the agency.
Mongolia, one of the largest nomadic countries in the world, has four seasons. Strong winds, dust and snow storms are common in spring.
