9 missing after cargo ship sinks in waters off Indonesia’s Bali
JAKARTA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) — An Indonesian cargo ship sank in the northern waters off the resort Island of Bali with nine people missing and six others rescued, the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Office’s spokesman Yusuf Latief said here on Tuesday night.
Another ship LCT Depasena Dua on Monday rescued six crew members of the cargo ship, the spokesman said.
After receiving a report on the accident which happened on Oct. 23, the search and rescue office in Bali immediately launched a search and rescue operation, he told Xinhua via phone.
The operation would continue within the next several days, he said, adding that storms were blamed for the sinking of the ship KM Liberty 1. Enditem
