ရုရှားနိုင်ငံတွင် ဇန်နဝါရီ ၁၈ ရက် ညနှောင်းပိုင်းက မင်းသုံးပါးနေ့ (Orthodox Epiphany) ပွဲတော်ကျင်းပရန် မြစ်များနှင့် ရေကန်များသို့ လာရောက်ကြသူများပြားခဲ့သည်။အဆိုပါပွဲတော်ကို ဇန်နဝါရီ ၁၉ ရက်တွင် ကျင်းပခြင်းဖြစ်သော်လည်း လူအများက ဇန်နဝါရီ ၁၈ ရက် ညနေပိုင်း၌ ဓလေ့ထုံးစံအတိုင်း အေးခဲသောရေထဲသို့ဆင်းကာ ရေငုပ်ခဲ့ကြခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။ရေက ၎င်းတို့၏ အပြစ်များနှင့် ရောဂါများကို ဆေးကြောပေးမည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ထားကြသည်။အရေးပေါ်အခြေအနေဝန်ထမ်းများကလည်း ရေအောက်ခြေကို စစ်ဆေးရန်နှင့် ရေငုပ်လိုသူများအား ဘေးကင်းရေးစည်းမျဉ်းစည်းကမ်းများကို ရှင်းလင်းပြောပြရန် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်လျက်ရှိသည်။ (Xinhua)

Epiphany celebrated in Russia
Late at night on Wednesday, Russians rushed to rivers and lakes to celebrate the Orthodox Epiphany.
The festival is celebrated on Jan. 19, but people traditionally jump into cold water on the evening of Jan. 18.
They believe that water will wash away all their sins and diseases.
Emergency staff were also on duty to check the bottom of the water and explained safety rules to all those willing to dive in.
