ပဲခူးတိုင်းဒေသကြီး ပဲခူးမြို့နယ်အတွင်း မကြာသေးမီရက်များအတွင်း မိုးသည်းထန်စွာရွာသွန်းမှုကြောင့် ပဲခူးမြစ်ရေမြင့်တက်ခဲ့ရာ ယနေ့ (ဇူလိုင် ၂၉ ရက်) မွန်းလွဲပိုင်းအထိ ယာယီရေဘေးရှောင်စခန်းများ ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားပြီး ရေဘေးသင့်အိမ်ထောင်စု ၄,၇၉၃ ခု၊ လူဦးရေ ၁၈,၂၁၀ ဦးအား ရေဘေးလွတ်ရာသို့ ကူညီကယ်ဆယ်ရေးလုပ်ငန်းများ ဆောင်ရွက်ပေးလျက်ရှိကြောင်း နိုင်ငံပိုင်မီဒီယာက ဇူလိုင် ၂၉ ရက် သတင်းဖော်ပြချက်အရ သိရသည်။

ထို့ပြင် ကရင်ပြည်နယ် မြဝတီမြို့နယ်တွင်လည်း မိုးများအဆက်မပြတ်ရွာသွန်းခဲ့ပြီး သောင်ရင်းမြစ်ရေလျှံတက်လာခြင်းကြောင့် ယာယီကယ်ဆယ်ရေးစခန်း ၁၁ ခု ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားရှိပြီး ရေဘေးသင့်အိမ်ထောင်စု ၃၇၀ ခုမှ လူဦးရေ ၄,၉၈၅ ဦးကို ပြောင်းရွှေ့ကူညီပေးလျက်ရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။

Widespread flooding displaces thousands across southern Myanmar

YANGON, July 29 (Xinhua) — Myanmar is experiencing widespread flooding across its southern regions and states, displacing thousands of people and submerging infrastructure, official media reported on Monday.
The water levels of rivers in 13 towns across the four regions and states of Ayeyarwady, Bago, Mon, and Kayin in southern Myanmar have already surpassed their warning marks on Monday, the country’s weather agency reported.
In Bago township of Bago region, a total of 18,210 people from 4,793 households have evacuated due to flooding caused by continuous heavy rains in recent days, the official daily The Mirror reported on Monday.
In Myawaddy township of Kayin state, 4,985 people from 370 households are also taking shelter in 11 relief centers in the township due to the rise of the Thaungyin River caused by continuous heavy rains, it said.
Railway lines and highway roads in Ayeyarwady region and Mon state have also been submerged, posing challenges for travelers, and schools have also been closed due to the floods, the report said.
In addition to the four regions and states, Taninthayi town of Taninthayi region also experienced flooding on Sunday due to the rise of the Taninthayi River level caused by continuous heavy rain, the report said.
Local authorities, fire service personnel, and rescuers in the affected towns are working together to evacuate the flood victims and provide them with essential supplies such as food, drinking water, and shelter, it added.
