ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ (အီးယူ) ပို့ကုန်များအပေါ်  စည်းကြပ်ခွန် ၃၀ ရာခိုင်နှုန်း ကောက်ခံမည့် အမေရိကန်၏ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်မှာ အတ္တလန္တိတ်ဖြတ်ကျော် ထောက်ပံ့ရေးကွင်းဆက်များကို အကြီးအကျယ် ထိခိုက်စေနိုင်သည့် အလားအလာရှိကြောင်း ဥရောပကော်မရှင် ဥက္ကဋ္ဌ အာဆူလာ ဗွန်ဒါလေယန်က ဇူလိုင် ၁၂ ရက်တွင် သတိပေးခဲ့ပြီး အီးယူအနေဖြင့် လိုအပ်မည်ဆိုလျှင် တန်ပြန်အစီအမံများဖြင့် တုံ့ပြန်မည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ကတိပြုခဲ့သည်။  “အီးယူပို့ကုန်တွေအပေါ်  ၃၀ ရာခိုင်နှုန်း အခွန်စည်းကြပ်တာဟာ အရေးပါတဲ့ အတ္တလန္တိတ်ဖြတ်ကျော် ထောက်ပံ့ရေးကွင်းဆက်တွေကို ထိခိုက်စေတဲ့အတွက် အတ္တလန္တိတ်သမုဒ္ဒရာ တစ်ဖက်တစ်ချက်စီက စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းတွေ၊ စားသုံးသူတွေ၊ ဆေးကုသမှုခံယူနေတဲ့ လူနာတွေကို ထိခိုက်နစ်နာစေမှာဖြစ်တယ်” ဟု ဗွန်ဒါလေယန်က ကြေညာချက်ထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့သည်။

အပြန်အလှန် ကုန်သွယ်မှုများမှာ ကာလကြာမြင့်စွာ မမျှမတဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီး အသွားအပြန်သဘော ကင်းမဲ့နေသည်ဟု အခိုင်အမာပြောဆိုလျက် အမေရိကန် အစိုးရအနေဖြင့် အီးယူပို့ကုန်များအပေါ်  စည်းကြပ်ခွန် ၃၀ ရာခိုင်နှုန်း ကောက်ခံမည်ဟု သမ္မတ ဒေါ်နယ်ထရမ့်က အစောပိုင်းတွင် ကြေညာခဲ့ပြီးနောက် ဗွန်ဒါလေယန်၏ ပြောကြားချက် ထွက်ပေါ်လာခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

အီးယူအနေဖြင့် ဆွေးနွေးညှိနှိုင်း၍ ဖြေရှင်းရန် စိတ်ပိုင်းဖြတ်ထားဆဲဖြစ်သည်ဟု ဗွန်ဒါလေယန်က တုံ့ပြန်ပြောဆိုခဲ့သော်လည်း ဆွေးနွေးညှိနှိုင်းမှုများ မအောင်မြင်ခဲ့ပါက မိမိတို့၏ အကျိုးစီးပွားကို ကာကွယ်ရန် လုပ်ဆောင်သွားမည်ဟု အလေးအနက်ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

EU chief slams Trump tariff threat, pledges retaliation if required

BRUSSELS, July 12 (Xinhua) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned on Saturday that Washington’s decision to impose 30 percent tariffs on European Union (EU) exports risks severely disrupting transatlantic supply chains, and pledged that the EU would respond with countermeasures if necessary.

“Imposing 30 percent tariffs on EU exports would disrupt essential transatlantic supply chains, to the detriment of businesses, consumers, and patients on both sides of the Atlantic,” von der Leyen said in a statement.

Her comments followed an earlier announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said his administration would impose 30 percent tariffs on EU exports, arguing that bilateral trade had long been unbalanced and lacked reciprocity.

Von der Leyen responded that the EU remained committed to a negotiated solution, but emphasized that the bloc would act to defend its economic interests if negotiations failed.

“We remain ready to continue working towards an agreement by Aug. 1,” she said, “At the same time, we will take all necessary steps to safeguard EU interests, including the adoption of proportionate countermeasures if required.”
