India’s unemployment rate hits 4-month high in April
India’s unemployment rate reached a four-month high in April at 8.11 percent, up from 7.8 percent in March, according to the latest data from the economic research house Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).
While rural unemployment decreased marginally to 7.34 percent in April from 7.47 percent in March, urban unemployment increased to 9.81 percent from 8.51 percent during the same period.
