Mideast in Pictures: A visit to Israeli Sea Turtle Rescue Center
HADERA, Israel, June 7 (Xinhua) — The Israeli Sea Turtle Rescue Center near the northern city of Hadera was established in 1999 by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, with the goal of rehabilitating injured sea turtles and returning them to the wild after their recovery.
Since its establishment, the center has cared for more than 700 injured sea turtles, about 70 percent of which have been released back to the sea.
