Vietnam’s energy sector to increase use of coal, gas for electricity
Vietnam will ramp up the use of coal and gas sources and mobilize renewable sources to ensure sufficient supply of electricity for the Southeast Asian country as the demand is projected to increase in 2023, local media reported on Thursday. The country is set to produce and import 284.5 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity this year, 16 billion kWh higher than the 2022 figure and 29 billion kWh more than in 2021, according to the Vietnam News.
