Xinjiang’s land port steps up service for Lunar New Year homecomers
As the Spring Festival draws near, the border port of Horgos in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is seeing more Chinese people working and studying abroad heading back to their home country.
According to the entry-exit border inspection station of Horgos, the number of people entering and exiting the country has exceeded 80,000 this year, marking a substantial increase compared to the same period last year.
To effectively handle the passenger flow peak, the Horgos border checkpoint has launched several measures, including opening more inspection channels and stepping up services.
