သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံ ကျန်းမာရေးအာဏာပိုင်များက နိုင်ငံအတွင်းရှိ အသက် ၆၀ နှစ်နှင့်အထက်ရှိသူများအား ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ (COVID-19) ကာကွယ်ဆေး တတိယအကြိမ်ထိုးနှံခြင်း စတင်ခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။

အားဖြည့်ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံခြင်းကို နိုင်ငံ အနောက်ပိုင်းနှင့် တောင်ပိုင်းရှိ ပြည်နယ်များ၊ Anuradhapura နှင့် Ampara ခရိုင်များ၌ နိုဝင်ဘာ ၁၇ ရက်က စတင်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံတွင် ပထမအကြိမ်နှင့် ဒုတိယအကြိမ်ကာကွယ်ဆေးများအတွက် Sinopharm, Sputnik V, Moderna, Pfizer နှင့် AstraZeneca စသည့် ကာကွယ်ဆေးများဖြင့် ထိုးနှံပေးခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။

အသက် ၆၀ နှစ်အထက်ရှိသူများအနေဖြင့် ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံပြီး ၃ လခန့်ကြာပြီးပါက အားဖြည့်ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံရန် သင့်လျော်ကြောင်း ကျန်းမာရေးတာဝန်ရှိသူများက ပြောခဲ့သည်။

ပြည်သူများအနေဖြင့် ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံရေးစင်တာများတွင် တန်းစီရမည်မဟုတ်ကြောင်း၊ ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံမည့်အချိန်အား ဒစ်ဂျစ်တယ်စာပို့စနစ်ဖြင့် ပေးပို့ခြင်းကို စောင့်ဆိုင်းရမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း တာဝန်ရှိသူများက ဆိုသည်။

သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံအတွင်း တတိယအကြိမ် ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံမှုအား အစောပိုင်းက လုံခြုံရေးဝန်ထမ်းများအပါအဝင် ရှေ့တန်းမှ ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ထမ်းများအား စတင်ထိုးနှံပေးခဲ့ခြင်း ဖြစ်ကြောင်း၊ အားဖြည့်ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံသူ ၁၂၀,၀၀၀ ကျော် ရှိကြောင်း ကျန်းမာရေးအာဏာပိုင်များ အဆိုအရ သိရသည်။

သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံရှိ အသက် ၂၀ နှစ်အထက်ရှိသူ၏ ၉၃.၅ ရာခိုင်နှုန်းသည် ကာကွယ်ဆေးနှစ်ကြိမ်စီ ထိုးနှံထားပြီးဖြစ်ကြောင်း တရားဝင်စာရင်းအင်းများအရ သိရသည်။

Sri Lanka begins administering booster vaccines on people over 60

COLOMBO, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka’s health authorities have begun administering third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on people aged 60 and above in the South Asian country.
The booster dose administration started on Wednesday in Western and Southern Provinces and the Anuradhapura and Ampara Districts.
Doctors on the ground told Xinhua that the Pfizer vaccine is used as the booster dose, and that all people in the cited age group can visit their nearby vaccination centers with their vaccine cards to take the third shot.
The first and second doses administered in Sri Lanka were the Sinopharm, Sputnik V, Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.
Health officials said people over 60 are eligible for the booster dose if it has been three months since they received the second dose.
Officials also called on people not to queue up at vaccination centers but to await a digital message to be sent to them stating the vaccination time.
According to health authorities, the third dose rollout in the country started earlier with frontline health workers including security forces personnel, with over 120,000 people having so far received the booster dose.
According to official statistics, 93.5 percent of the population over 20 years of age in Sri Lanka have received two doses to date.
The country has so far reported over 552,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with over 14,000 deaths. Enditem
