သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံ အစိုးရသည် အသက် ၁၂ နှစ်အထက်ကလေးများအား တစ်ဆင့်ပြီးတစ်ဆင့် COVID-19 ကာကွယ်ဆေး ထိုးနှံပေးရန် စီစဉ်ထားသည်ဟု ဝန်ကြီးချုပ် Mahinda Rajapaksa က ပြောကြားထားကြောင်း ဒေသတွင်းမီဒီယာက ဩဂုတ် ၁၆ ရက်၌ သတင်းဖော်ပြထားသည်။

ရှုပ်ထွေးမှုများစွာဖြင့် ကလေးငယ်များအား ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံခြင်း အစီအစဉ်တွင် ဦးစားပေးထားရှိကြောင်း Rajapaksa က ပြောခဲ့သည်။

လက်ရှိတွင် အစိုးရအနေဖြင့် အသက် ၃၀ နှစ်အထက် နိုင်ငံသားများအားလုံးကို နိုင်ငံတစ်ဝန်း အသုံးပြုလျက်ရှိသော ကာကွယ်ဆေးများအနက် ဦးဆောင်ကာကွယ်ဆေးဖြစ်သော တရုတ်နိုင်ငံ၏ Sinopharm ကာကွယ်ဆေးဖြင့် ထိုးနှံလျက်ရှိကြောင်း၊ အခြားကာကွယ်ဆေးများမှာ AstraZeneca ၊ Pfizer ၊ Sputnik V နှင့် Moderna ကာကွယ်ဆေးများဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။

သီရိလင်္ကာနိုင်ငံတွင် လက်ရှိအချိန်အထိ အသက် ၃၀ နှစ် အထက် လူဦးရေ ၁၁ သန်းကျော်ကို ပထမအကြိမ် ကာကွယ်ဆေးထိုးနှံထားပြီးဖြစ်ကြောင်းနှင့် ယင်းတို့အနက် လူပေါင်း ၃,၆၉၈,၃၀၃ ဦးမှာ ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ကာကွယ်ဆေး ထိုးနှံထားပြီးဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။ (Xinhua)

Sri Lanka to begin vaccinating children above 12 against COVID-19

COLOMBO, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) — Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said the Sri Lankan government has planned to vaccinate children over 12 years old against the COVID-19 step by step, local media reported Monday.
Rajapaksa said children with various complications will be given priority in the vaccination program.
Presently the government is vaccinating all citizens above the age of 30 years against the COVID-19 with China’s Sinopharm vaccine being the leading vaccine administered across the country. Others are AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sputnik V and Moderna vaccines.
Sri Lanka has to date administered over 11 million doses of first dose vaccines on those above 30 years old and 3,698,303 second doses were administered. Enditem
