Argentine officials warn of second wave of COVID-19

BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) — Argentine authorities on Monday urged the public to continue social distancing and practicing good hygiene as a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is looming.

Daniel Gollan, secretary of health of Buenos Aires Province, and Jorge Geffner, coordinator of the Coronavirus Unit at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research, agreed on the need to maintain sanitary measures to prevent significant outbreaks.

In Buenos Aires province, where 42.95 percent of all national cases have been registered, there have been “a lot of mobility” and causes for concern, Gollan told local radio stations “10” and “AM750.”
