FC Barcelona coach Flick: We need unity with Yamal injured
MADRID, April 24 (Xinhua) — FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said he was confident that his side can overcome the loss of Lamine Yamal for the rest of the season and win this season’s La Liga title.
Barcelona plays away to an in-form Getafe on Saturday after it was confirmed on Thursday that Yamal tore his left hamstring in Wednesday’s 1-0 win at home to Celta Vigo and won’t play again in La Liga this season.
“It’s not easy for him or for us. We have to manage it. He’ll also learn from his first muscle injury. He’ll surely be ready for the World Cup and will come back stronger,” said Flick over the injury to the youngster.
Yamal’s injury, along with that of Raphinha, who is also sidelined with a hamstring injury, will give a chance to others such as Marcus Rashford or Roony Bardghji, who Flick said was “ready” to play.
“He was ready when Lamine was fit (…) He’s doing well and now he’ll have more opportunities to play, although we haven’t yet decided if he’ll start in Getafe.”
