Israeli defense company to provide U.S. Army sight systems for Apache helicopters

JERUSALEM, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) — Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems will provide the U.S. Army with sight systems for the Apache helicopter fleet, the company announced on Wednesday.
The contract, with the total value of 76 million U.S. dollars, will be performed over a five-year period, Elbit said.

The Integrated Helmet And Display Sight Systems (IHADSS) are uniquely designed for the Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopters.
This helmet-mounted system presents critical flight and targeting information directly in front of the pilot’s eye, contributing to mission success and crew safety, according to Elbit.
The IHADSS parts will be delivered to the U.S. Army from Elbit U.S. subsidiary’s engineering and manufacturing facility at Fort Worth, Texas.
