အာရှဖွံဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေးဘဏ် (ADB) သည် ဖီဂျီနိုင်ငံ၏ ရေအရင်းအမြစ်လုံခြုံရေး၊ သမုဒ္ဒရာ ဂေဟစနစ် ကောင်းမွန်ရေးနှင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ကျန်းမာရေးအတွက် အတိုးနှုန်းသက်သာသော ချေးငွေ အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၁၂၅ သန်းနှင့် ထောက်ပံ့ကြေး အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၁၀ သန်းကို စက်တင်ဘာ ၁၂ ရက်နေ့တွင် အတည်ပြုခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
“Kinoya ရေဆိုးသန့်စင်စက်ရုံအဆင့်မြှင့်တင်ရေးက သမုဒ္ဒရာ ဂေဟစနစ်ကောင်းမွန်ရေးနဲ့ ပစိဖိတ်သမုဒ္ဒရာနှင့်အနီးဝန်းကျင်ရှိ Laucala ပင်လယ်အော်ရေအရည်အ‌သွေးတို့ကို သိသာစွာတိုးတက်စေပါလိမ့်မယ်” ဟု ‌အေဒီဘီ၏ ပစိဖိတ်ဒေသခွဲရုံး ဒေသညွှန်ကြားရေးမှူး Aaron Batten က ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။
စီမံကိန်းလုပ်ဆောင်မှုကြောင့် Kinoya ၏ ရေဆိုးသန့်စင်မှု လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်စွမ်း နှစ်ဆတိုးလာမှာဖြစ်ပြီး တိကျထိရောက်သည့်နည်းပညာများကိုအသုံးပြုခြင်းဖြင့် အနည်းဆုံးလုပ်ငန်းလည်ပတ်ကာ စွမ်းအင်သုံးစွဲမှုနှင့် ထိန်းသိမ်းမှုကုန်ကျစရိတ်များကိုလျှော့ချပေးနိုင်မည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း Batten က ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။ (Xinhua)

ADB approves 135 mln USD loan, grant to support ocean health, water security in Fiji
MANILA, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Friday said it approved a concessional loan of 125 million U.S. dollars and a grant of 10 million dollars to strengthen Fiji’s water security and improve ocean and environmental health.
The Healthy Oceans and Water Security Improvement Project will support the Water Authority of Fiji to undertake major upgrades to the Kinoya wastewater treatment plant in the Fijian capital Suva, invest in creating a resilient water supply system with reduced water losses, and establish a regional training center for Pacific water and wastewater operators.
“The upgrade of Kinoya wastewater treatment plant will significantly improve ocean health and water quality in and around Laucala Bay,” said the Regional Director of ADB’s Pacific Subregional Office Aaron Batten.
“Under the project, the wastewater treatment capacity at Kinoya will be doubled, using fit-for-purpose technologies that reduce energy usage and minimize ongoing operations and maintenance costs,” said Batten.
