Xinhua president meets Egyptian PM assistant
CAIRO, May 12 (Xinhua) — President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met here Tuesday with Osama El-Gohary, assistant to the Prime Minister of Egypt and chairman of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), a leading Egyptian governmental think tank affiliated with the Cabinet.
Fu said China and Egypt are both ancient civilizations, and the friendly exchanges between the two countries have become a vivid example of solidarity and cooperation, as well as mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, Fu said Xinhua looks forward to working with the IDSC to leverage the “governance advisory” role of media outlets and think tanks, step up exchanges on governance experience between the two countries, contribute to the elevation of bilateral ties, and jointly create the “most beautiful harmony” of the Global South.
El-Gohary warmly welcomed Fu’s visit. He said Xinhua upholds an objective and impartial stance and enjoys a high level of credibility and global influence.
He added that the visit injected strong momentum into bilateral cooperation, noting that the IDSC looks forward to conducting joint research, increasing personnel exchanges, and deepening innovation collaboration, thereby contributing the expertise of media and think tanks to promoting Egypt-China friendship and building consensus among Global South countries.
