Chrysanthemums blooming in tropical city in China’s Hainan

Hundreds of thousands of chrysanthemums are in full bloom in a vast field in Sanya, a tropical city in China’s Hainan Province.

Chrysanthemums, which usually blossom in autumn, are mostly planted in China’s northern and central regions where the temperatures suit their growth best.

Since 2021, a research team has been growing certain types of the flower in Sanya, trying to build an industrial chain of chrysanthemum farming here.
