ဖိလစ်ပိုင်နိုင်ငံတွင် တီဘီရောဂါ (tuberculosis) တစ်ကျော့ပြန်ကူးစက်မှု မြင့်မားလာခြင်းနှင့် ရင်ဆိုင်နေရသဖြင့် တီဘီရောဂါတိုက်ဖျက်ရေး ကြိုးပမ်းအားထုတ်မှုများကို တိုးမြှင့်ဆောင်ရွက်သွားမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ဖိလစ်ပိုင် ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ကြီး Teodoro Herbosa က ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

“ဖိလစ်ပိုင်နိုင်ငံက တီဘီရောဂါဖိစီးမှုဒဏ်ခံစားရတဲ့ ထိပ်ဆုံးနိုင်ငံထဲက တစ်နိုင်ငံဖြစ်တယ်” ဟု Herbosa က သတင်းစာရှင်းလင်းပွဲ၌ ပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီး ဖိလစ်ပိုင်နိုင်ငံသား တစ်သန်းခန့်တွင် တီဘီရောဂါကူးစက်ခံနေရကြောင်းနှင့် ထိုရောဂါဖြစ်ပွားမှုမှာ ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ (COVID-19) ကပ်ရောဂါကာလအတွင်း မြင့်တက်လာခဲ့ကြောင်း ၎င်းက ဖြည့်စွက်ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။

ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနအနေဖြင့် နွမ်းပါးသောရပ်ကွက်များ၊ လုပ်ငန်းခွင်များ၊ လူထူထပ်သောအကျဉ်းထောင်များ၊ လူနေအိမ်များ၊ ကျန်းမာရေးစောင့်ရှောက်မှုနေရာများနှင့် ကျန်းမာရေး အဆောက်အအုံများ၌ တီဘီရောဂါပိုးစစ်ဆေးရှာဖွေမှုများ ပြုလုပ်သွားမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ပြည်သူများအသိပညာပေးခြင်းနှင့် ကျန်းမာရေးစစ်ဆေးခြင်းများ တိုးမြှင့်ရန် စည်းရုံးလှုံ့ဆော်မှုများ အရှိန်မြှင့် ဆောင်ရွက်သွားမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း Herbosa က ဆိုသည်။

Philippines to intensify fight against tuberculosis resurgence

MANILA, July 4 (Xinhua) — The Philippines will intensify its efforts to fight against tuberculosis in targeted areas as the Southeast Asian country grapples with a resurgence of the highly infectious airborne disease, Philippine Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said on Tuesday.
“The Philippines continues to be one of the top countries with the high burden of tuberculosis,” Herbosa told a news conference, adding about a million Filipinos have active tuberculosis disease, and the cases have spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Health will conduct active tuberculosis finding in poor communities, workplaces, crowded jails, residential homes, care facilities, and even health facilities, and will also intensify advocacy campaigns to raise public awareness and intervention, Herbosa said.
According to a 2022 report by the World Health Organization (WHO), about 10.6 million are infected with tuberculosis globally, with India, Indonesia, and the Philippines as the major contributors to the increase.
The WHO said around 1.4 million died of tuberculosis in 2021 alone. The Philippines is one of the countries that contribute to the most estimated increase in tuberculosis deaths, along with India, Indonesia, and Myanmar.
