China calls on Cambodia, Thailand to exercise restraint to prevent escalation
BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) — China has called on Cambodia and Thailand to exercise restraint and prevent their border situation from escalating further, a foreign ministry spokesperson said at a regular press briefing on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks following the recent Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
He said that as a friend and close neighbor to both Cambodia and Thailand, China sincerely hopes that the two sides will meet each other halfway.
